ELS Clinical Trial for Kidney Stones
Minimally Invasive Treatment
ELS uses ultrasound energy through the skin, eliminating the need for more invasive methods.
Less Painful Stone Passage
By breaking stones into smaller fragments, ELS may reduce or eliminate the discomfort typically felt when passing stones.
Same-Day Return Home
The procedure is outpatient, allowing you to go home the same day.
Precise and Targeted Therapy
The system uses microbubbles that release targeted energy near the stone to break it down.
What to Expect

During the Procedure
A small catheter will be inserted into your urethra to place tiny microbubbles near the stone. An external ultrasound treatment head will be positioned against your skin near the ureter to actuate the microbubbles and break down the stone.

Quick & Convenient
The ELS procedure takes approximately one hour and can be performed in a doctor’s office. Your doctor will discuss various pain-management options.

After the Procedure
You can return home the same day. Your doctor will check in on you after two weeks via a phone call. You will need to return 30 days post-procedure for a blood test and a CT scan. Additional follow-ups may be scheduled as needed.
